Awards
This award celebrates a striking example of ground-breaking work. The innovative nature of the work can be in terms of clinical practice, research, or socially inclusive practice, such as working with sections of the community who may traditionally find access to therapeutic treatment difficult.
This award recognises an individual in a position of leadership who has developed their role to make a significant and outstanding contribution to developing the position and/or influence of psychoanalytic/psychodynamic psychotherapy in the wider world.
This award applauds an individual or organisation that has significantly improved and/or developed inclusivity in matters of diversity such as ethnicity, sexual orientation, class, disability etc. in psychoanalytic practice and/or therapeutic treatment.
This award focuses on training and supervision that gives substantive and considered attention to thinking about diversity (in its broad definition to include race, ethnicity, class, sexuality, gender etc). This may include, for example, novel curriculum developments, projects to address inclusivity in supervision and training, programmes that address barriers to accessing training.
This award recognises those who have made significant, sustained contributions to the psychoanalytic profession over their career.
This new award for 2024 celebrate the core contributions to the advancement of psychoanalytical scholarship and to the transmission of psychoanalytical insights to a wider community, beyond the consulting room. Recipients of the this award will have contributed significantly to this field through academic or popular publications, through teaching, through organisational contributions, through media work, or through research projects which investigate and contribute to a better understanding of our planet.
Whilst you cannot nominate yourself for an award, you can nominate an organisation that you work for or a colleague that you work with. Award winners do not need to have membership with the BPC, but need to be part of the psychoanalytic community in some sense.
