Consultation on Standards of conduct, performance and ethics
Standards are at the core of what we do at the BPC. Our robust standards are what make us the leading professional association and accredited Register for the UK’s psychoanalytic profession. Because of this, it’s crucial that we consistently reflect on these standards and assure they’re accurate to what we do and how we do it.
Recently, we have opened a consultation to seek the views and comments of our stakeholders on the updated Standards of conduct, performance and ethics and supporting Guidance and we’re inviting responses to our draft documentation from our community.
We realise that our professional community hold invaluable insight into the day-to-day requirements, nature and details of the profession and we want to consider every comment, query and point of view when reflecting upon our standards. Your feedback on these documents during this consultation is incredibly important to us; we want to get as many responses to the consultation as possible. This will ensure the resulting documents are as robust and considered as possible. The new standards, once confirmed, will replace the code of ethics and therefore will be the standards that all of our Registrants must meet.
If you haven’t yet had a chance, this is a reminder that the consultation will close on 9 September and your response prior to this would be much valued. After the closing date, and we will be unable to consider responses after this date.We want our standards to work for everyone, so we want to hear from you. Find out more, and how to respond, here.
