Depictions of Class Struggle in the ‘Saltburn’ and ‘Parasite’ Films

These films represent different depictions of class struggle and inequality, where an ideological discourse of meritocracy juxtaposes with the depiction of working-class folk trying to rise higher through an increasingly oppressive system, through violence and criminality. I will link this to our country’s apparent fetishism with class structure and explore this from a psychoanalytic perspective.
