This CPD day is suitable for DIT practitioners as well as psychodynamic/analytic therapists who have an interest in working with attachment-related issues in psychotherapy. It will be led by Prof Patrick Luyten who will focus on clinical examples and role-play.
The following topics will be covered:
- Attachment as an adaptation strategy
- Linking attachment with mentalizing and affect regulation
- Working with the relationship questionnaire in DIT
- Identifying the patient’s attachment strategies – hyperactivating and deactivating
- Integrating attachment styles with the formulation of the IPAF (i.e., prototypical IPAFs)
- Working with attachment issues in the transference
- Attachment and interventions to improve embodied mentalizing
