‘Becoming’: A psychoanalytic Journey

This will be a day of presentations and discussions and will include a screening of the critically acclaimed film ‘Becoming’ by director Andy Spitz.

Programme:

9.00am Registration

9.15 Introduction Catherine McKisack – Chair – introduces the day, BPA, psychoanalysis.

9.30 -11.00 Baby observation Becky Hall in conversation with Tara Calin about her baby observation. Chair: Louise Hayman.

11-11.30 Coffee break

11.30-1.00 Our becomingPanel of four analysts -Rodrigo Escandón, Felipe Massao Kuzuhara, Sánchez, Marion Schoenfeld, Hania Porucznik – each talk about their beginnings, how they trained, how practising, and thoughts about psychoanalysis today. Discussion opened up to the floor. Chair: Celia Hayes.

1-1.45 Lunch

1.50-4.00 Film – ‘Becoming’, Followed by Andy Spitz in conversation with Nina Wessels and Astra Temko, chaired by Joan Thompson and open to questions and contributions from the floor.

4.00-4.30 Tea

4.30-6.00 Final session David Morgan will do a presentation with clinical material – from his experience and looking forward. Chair: Catherine McKisack.
