Description
Preventing, Treating and Humanizing the Dangerous Mind: Exploring the Past, Present and Future of Forensic Psychotherapy
This special two-day conference wishes to welcome not only those who specialise in forensic mental health, and probation, as well as members of the criminal justice community but especially, all of our colleagues in the fields of counselling, psychology, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, social work, and other related arenas. We know only too well that even our “non-forensic” patients can suffer from aggression in fantasy or in action; hence, we warmly welcome colleagues from every branch of these fields. We are therefore calling for abstracts and talks around the broader theme of violence, encouraging diverse perspectives as well as submissions from groups and teams of individuals. We would especially welcome abstracts from the full range of professions working in the justice system.
Our speakers will include esteemed mental health professionals, politicians, academics and social activists from many countries, including Australia, Italy, Peru, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America.
Please do join us, either in person at the London headquarters of the British Medical Association, or via Zoom. This will be a hybrid event. Please see our bookings page for the different tickets on offer.
