Description

This clinically oriented study group will meet monthly from Sept to July. It offers a space for qualified therapists to think how Kleinian theory and practice can inform their work.

In past years those taking part have trained in art therapy and integrative courses as well as psychodynamic and psychoanalytic psychotherapy. In addition to private practice, it has attracted practitioners in a variety of person-facing roles, such as the NHS and the voluntary sector.

Both recently qualified and experienced clinicians have found the group thought-provoking and supportive of their professional development. CPD certificates are provided.

There is a maximum of fifteen participants. Discussion will start out from chapters in my 2023 book “The Kleinian Tradition for Psychotherapists and Counsellors”, available from Routledge for £24.99 (a copy is included in the course fee.)

Feedback from previous courses:
‘I find the seminars well paced and organised and the group work very containing and informative. ‘ ‘This once monthly format is really good value, as I have learnt so much more compared to the equivalent amount of hours in an average 2 days CPD course.’ ‘The content of the discussion has been excellent – everyone seems to contribute.’ ‘I have found the reading group really valuable. I noticed this week how I’m consistently using concepts in my thinking about clients that I wouldn’t have been able to name let alone use before the course began.’
