Description
Dialogues: Psychoanalytic perspectives on Unconscious Phantasy
Unconscious phantasy has lain at the centre of the psychoanalytic project from its earliest days. It has undergone numerous revisions and expansions to take in and make use of discoveries in the consulting rooms and our wider world. This process can throw up both clinical and conceptual problems and at times stretch the concept beyond use.
This dialogue will explore psychoanalytic ideas about the origin and development of unconscious phantasy drawing on both theoretical concepts of the psyche and vignettes from the room. Our guest speakers, Jean Knox and Sue Gottleib will each give a presentation before entering into a dialogue with the audience about the material presented.
