Description

Dr Craissati will set the scene with consideration of the key typologies for sexual homicide, drawn from research, and conclude with consideration of the way in which Glasser’s core complex can be helpful to practitioners who are not familiar with psychoanalytic concepts.

Dr Craissati is a consultant clinical and forensic psychologist by profession, with over 25 years of NHS experience working in mental health services, and between 2009 and 2015 she was clinical director of the Forensic & Prisons Directorate of Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust in south east London. She currently work as a Non-Executive Director for Kent & Medway Mental Health & Social Care Partnership Trust, as a Trustee on the Board of Samaritans, and as Consultant Advisor to the national Offender Personality Disorder Pathway team.

She currently runs her own community interest company, providing consultancy on criminal justice and complex mental health care, including the provision of independent serious incident investigations for NHS England. She has a special interest in the assessment and treatment of high risk sexual, violent and personality disordered offenders. She has previously developed and managed a number of related projects, often run in partnership with other statutory and third sector organisations.

The IAFP is delighted to announce the launch of the IAFP Evening Seminars. These bimonthly online seminars will provide an opportunity to discuss a broad range of mental health and criminal justice issues from a psychodynamic perspective. We would very much like to welcome not only those who specialise in forensic mental health, including our colleagues in nursing, social work, probation, counselling, psychology, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, but also those from related disciplines in criminal justice, including criminology, social policy and the law.
