Therapeutic work in schools: the challenges, opportunities, and approaches when supporting young people and staff
Book ticketsOrganised by:
The Brent Centre for Young People
Description
Using a psychodynamic lens, the conference will seek to examine how the traditional child psychotherapy frame has been adapted to school settings and highlight both the opportunities and challenges this can create clinically.
Presentations will explore work conducted in a range of school settings – primary and secondary, state and independent – and seek to consider the impact of organisational dynamics, whilst reflecting on the breadth of potential therapeutic work.
It is hoped that the conference will be of interest to school therapists/counsellors, SENDCOs, Head Teachers, DSLs, or anyone responsible for supporting the wellbeing of young people who are trained in, or interested in, psychodynamic models of therapy.
