Angela Harrison

I am a Psychodynamic counsellor offering private sessions in Stratton-on-the-Fosse, near Bath. I qualified in 2016 from Wessex Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I have since worked within the organisation as a sessional counsellor. I spent a year working with young adults at Bath College and three years working within the NHS Mental Health Services at The Royal United Hospital, Bath.
I work psychodynamically with individual adults on a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, abuse (emotional, physical and sexual), low self-esteem, trauma and loss.
I am mindful of the impact of past experience on current relationships and behaviours. This impact is often outside of conscious awareness and can bring about feelings of being stuck in a state of mind, overwhelmed or confused. When this occurs, it can be helpful to find support outside your usual network, even though this may initially seem daunting. However, the process is simple:
When you make contact, I will offer an initial consultation where we can look at the relevant issues and expectations and see if what I provide is right for you. If we proceed with weekly sessions you will find a calm and confidential space where you can think and speak freely. I work with a positive regard and without judgement within either a time limited or open-ended framework, depending on your needs. I look to help restore inner balance through increased self -awareness. This can bring about new perspectives and new possibilities for you moving forward.
