I provide psychoanalytically informed psychotherapy. Mental pain or psychic confusion manifest in feelings often grouped under the categories of depression and anxiety. Sometimes, there will be an explicit reason for such feelings, such as bereavement, sudden unemployment or a divorce. Sometimes, reasons will be less clear but no less overwhelming. I work in the way which looks, through the exploration of the past and its links with the present, to uncover some understanding of how things came to be as they are, and feel as they do. To understand is to fulfil a wish for meaning, and on a more practical level, it is the best chance of mastering a difficult reality.
