I am a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with over a decade of clinical experience. I draw on a background of working in the NHS and university mental health services to help the people I work with to talk about and find a way through a wide range of emotional and relationship problems. I am also a trained supervisor.

I always aim to meet patients from a place of care, respect, curiosity and humility. I do this in a spirit of both kindness and truth – after all, as the psychoanalyst Hanna Segal said: “truth without kindness is not truth; kindness without truth is not kindness”.

What is psychodynamic psychotherapy? Psychotherapy is always tailored to the individual; there are no off-the-peg solutions. That said, it is broadly the case that psychodynamic psychotherapy will help you to: see yourself more clearly and understand yourself better; get beneath the surface-level problems to the roots of your difficulties; make use of this information to inform changes in how you relate to yourself and others in the here and now.

Who do I work with? I work with adults (18 years and over) who have a wide range of common emotional and relationship problems. Within the limitations of my own frame of reference, I am open to working with people irrespective of age, race, class, culture, gender identity, marital status, physical ability, religion or sexual orientation.

Where do I work? I work in private, comfortable consulting rooms in Salisbury, Wiltshire and Southampton, Hampshire.
