Emma Jaffe
Psychodynamic Counsellor
About Emma Jaffe
I am a BACP accredited psychotherapist, working in private practice from consulting rooms in London NW7. I have worked in clinical practice for many years in a range of different settings including within the NHS.
I work with individual adults who present with issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, loss, family and relationship difficulties, low self-esteem.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is central to the healing process. The environment I provide and the dynamic we experience together is fundamental to our work, contributing to a deeper understanding of feelings, thoughts and behaviours. As links with the past emerge, more sense can be made of current feelings, which can result in a reduction of emotional distress and lead to new, healthier ways of coping with life.
I specialise in open-ended long-term work, with sessions taking place once or twice weekly. Short-term, focussed work may be more appropriate in specific circumstances. I also offer sessions via video-call or telephone.
I adhere to and abide by the BPC’s strict ethical standards and code of practice and am fully insured.
I offer a brief conversation on the phone intially to assess suitability before meeting for an introductory consultation.
The consulting room is a confidential space, quiet and comfortable. It is located on the ground floor and there is street parking available. I look forward to welcoming you.
