Phil McEvoy
Psychodynamic Psychotherapist
About Phil McEvoy
Prior to becoming a private psychodynamic psychotherapist I had 30 years of experience as a front-line clinician, researcher and service manager in the NHS.
I work with adults of all ages and backgrounds on both a time limited and more open ended basis. Many of the patients I work with have experienced long standing depression, anxiety, trauma and complex grief. Although every patient's experience is different, often a root cause of many of their mental health problems is emotional pain. This has led them to feel stuck and unable to move forward in life. The safe and contained setting of therapy allows space to explore and work through their internal conflicts. By doing so, it creates a platform for personal growth. Therapy helps the patients I work with to develop a more empathic sense of themselves, deal with troubled relationships and harness unrecognised strengths.
I offer concessionary rates depending on the individual patient's circumstances and ability to pay. And I have a specialist interest in working with family carers of people with dementia.
