My background experience is working as a counsellor in universities, counselling students and members of staff. I have now been in private practice for 12 years. My area of interest includes: issues related to loss; difficulties with work or studies; difficulties with relationships; change of cultural environment; exile and migration; multilingualism; adjusting to different life stages.
I offer a brief telephone conversation, free of charge, in which we can discuss practical matters, and which helps you decide if you wish to book an initial appointment. An initial appointment will last up to 70 minutes. All subsequent sessions will last 50 minutes. It might take more than one initial session for you to decide if you would like to go ahead with having counselling. This is an important decision that requires commitment on both sides.
I consider it to be an essential part of my work to provide you with a stable space, conducive to thinking about problems and exploring their meaning, as well as new perspectives. For that reason, once you have started counselling, sessions will be regular, on a once-weekly basis, and at a fixed time of mutual convenience.
