Johanna Mulligan
Psychodynamic Psychotherapist
About Johanna Mulligan
I specialise in the area of early trauma (complex trauma) and work in a multi disciplinary clinic based in Dublin, Ireland. I am trained in a variety of attachment assessment techniques: the CAPA which is within the DMM model of attachment; Story Stems Profile (Anna Freud Centre); Child Attachment Interview (Anna Freud Centre). I am also trained to work at level 2 (trauma) in Theraplay, a dyadic attachment therapy. I use psychodynamic approaches in psychotherapy with children and adolescents affected by extreme adverse early life experiences. I also work psychotherapeutically with foster carers, parents and the system around children in care. Our clinic combines this approach with specialist occupational therapy. We include SAI (sensory attachment intervention) and sensory integration assessment/therapy to make sense of how the children and young people we see have been affected by their adverse early experiences. This developmental perspective looks at the history and it's impact from the parents histories, and physiologically for the children, from the point of conception.
