Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist
About Sarah Clark
I offer face-to-face and online psychotherapy to individual's struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, low self-esteem, disordered eating and/or body image issues, trauma, obsessive compulsions, mid-life crisis and menopause issues, relationship/intimacy difficulties, among others.
Experience and qualifications
I work privately and I have over a decade of experience working in different NHS settings. I have spent years in forensic and general inpatient units working with children, adolescents and adults. I have spent years also in the community serving outpatient units in North London.
After a BSc in psychology, I completed an MSc in the psychodynamics of human development with Birkbeck University of London and The British Psychotherapy Foundation (BPF) and following this, completed the BPF 7-year intensive psychoanalytic psychotherapy training. My main training is in the psychoanalytic tradition. However, I draw from a range of psychological approaches including mentalisation based therapy, psychodynamics and dialectical-behavioural therapy.
I am registered with the British Psychoanalytic council (BPC), a member of the British psychotherapy foundation (BPF), the British psychological society (BPS). I am a member of the Neuropsychoanalysis Associations as I have grown a special interest in the dialogue between psychoanalysis, neuroscience and the application of psychoanalytic insight into the domains of Art, Film and Culture.
I have completed training with C-LAN (Centre for leadership and affective neuroscience). I have been a speaker of webinars discussing the impact of Covid on individual's, teams and organisations mental health, as well as facilitating workshops for organisations, focusing on building resilience throughout this time.
