Robert Ford

I offer longer term and time-limited individual psychotherapy, as well as couple psychotherapy. I originally trained as a social worker in the UK, and then later as a psychodynamic psychotherapist. I have undertaken additional training in brief psychotherapy, clinical supervision, and couple psychotherapy. I completed training in mentalisation based therapy, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy - all effective treatments for trauma.

I have a first degree in psychology (BSc), a Masters (MA) in Social Work, and a Masters (MCliSci) in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. And a certificate in applied Internal Family Systems (IFS) from Adler Graduate School of Psychology (Toronto, Canada).

I am currently undertaking postgraduate training in Buddhist Psychotherapy with the Australian Association of Buddhist Counsellors and Psychotherapists https://aabcap.org
My work experience includes brief and long-term psychotherapy in various health service and corrections settings for about 20 years.
