About Sarah Gracie

I am a qualified and experienced psychotherapist working within the NHS and in private practice. I offer a safe space in which to explore thoughts and feelings that may be troubling you.
I am trained in the psychodynamic/psychoanalytic model, which understands the mind as shaped by unconscious as well as conscious forces, which may often be in conflict. This model invites you to explore the feelings or thoughts you are struggling with in an open unjudgemental space, in the hope that over time, stuck patterns and repeated unhelpful responses will gradually heal. It has been my experience that given time, and careful and respectful listening, people do begin to find themselves feeling and living substantially better, even when difficulties appear intractable and are longstanding.
Where there may be a neurological underpinning to high levels of anxiety or challenges with emotional regulation, I am familiar with working with clients in an ASD or ADHD-informed way.

I have experience of working with a wide range of difficulties, including depression and anxiety, low self-esteem, personality disorders, sexual abuse and other forms of sexual violence, living with serious illness, and bereavement, including bereavement by suicide. As above, I am also familiar with working clients with neurodiversity challenges.
