Karen Ciclitira

Dr Karen Ciclitira is an Associate Professor in Psychology and a Chartered Psychologist.
She has twenty years of experience of working within the NHS, private and voluntary sectors. Her academic research is wide ranging and has been published in various psychology journals. Topics of her research include women’s mental health, sexuality, self-harm, the evaluation of counselling services, eating disorders, culture and diversity. Karen works as a psychotherapist with adults of all ages both short and long-term. The majority of her work involves face-to-face and online sessions once a week. She also sees patients up to three times a week either face-to-face or on the couch. Karen specialises in working with women and men with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, sexual issues, including violence and abuse, and problems connected to physical illness.
She is also a member of the BPS and the BACP.
