I offer individual psychoanalytic psychotherapy to patients who are troubled by depressive symptoms, anxiety, relationship difficulties, complex physical illness leading to emotional distress and compulsive behaviours which lead to stress and strain in everyday life.
My experience in therapeutic work includes the following clinical settings;
Paediatric mental health liaison at the Royal London Hospital.
CAMHS work which primarily involved the assessment and treatment of adolescents involved in the Criminal Justice System, and their families.
Intensive psychoanalytic work with adult forensic patients presenting with harmful sexual behaviours, including group work at the Portman clinic.
Brief psychoanalytic psychotherapy with patients suffering psychosomatic symptoms.
Psychoanalytically informed clinical supervision to multi-disciplinary teams working with personality disorder.
Course lead for a teaching programme designed for senior psychiatric nursing staff held at the Tavistock Centre for several years. The aim was to introduce the theory of the unconscious as a means of understanding difficult responses to work with patients suffering severe and enduring psychiatric disorders.
