Sharon Bergin

I qualified as a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist in 2014 and have worked as a Psychodynamice Psychotherapist since this time in community-based treatment services and organisations offering residential treatment, as well as in private practice.

I have experience of working with individuals who present with diagnoses such as ADHD, autism, one or more of the many different types of personality disorder, and with individuals who experience psychotic states of mind. Most people who seek psychotherapy do not come with a diagnosis; they come because they are struggling with what’s going on in their life and/or what’s going on in their mind, and they are looking for change.

My specialist areas are relational difficulties and trauma. From these areas, we experience symptoms such as anxiety, depression, relationship breakdown, and at times, harmful and/or repetitive behaviours. My focus will be on helping you understand what function they have served for you, where they come from, and how to bring about change
