Our Scholars’ Event: A look back

In January, we hosted our valued Scholars Network to the Freud Museum for an evening of speeches, networking and catching up with old friends and colleagues.

Launched in 2016, the network was created as a means of promoting the field of psychoanalytical scholarship and to pay tribute to esteemed academics who have already contributed much to the profession. The network has since been expanded to include clinicians who have demonstrated academic expertise and burgeoning postgraduate doctoral candidates, as well as researchers and writers from outside the UK.

During the evening we heard speeches from Lee Smith, the Chair of the BPC, and from Greg Ross-Sampson, our Chief Executive. Founding Scholar and Committe Member Brett Kahr gave a speech tracing he history of the Scholars’ Network and its development over the years. The event also served as an opportunity to meet members of the Scholars’ Committee and to learn more about one another’s research projects and publication plans.

It was a very special event that bring together both long-standing and new members, as well as those interested in finding out more about the network.
