About Stephen Race
Steve is a BPC accredited DIT Practitioner and Supervisor, Jungian Analytic Supervisor and a BACP registered Psychodynamic Psychotherapist (a graduate of Oxford University) with over ten years combined experience working in the NHS, third sector and Higher Education.
Steve currently facilitates a reflective practice group for third year Clinical Psychology students at the University of Sheffield Clinical Psychology Unit. He is a clinical supervisor and staff counsellor for Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust based at Rampton Hospital. He is a clinical consultant for various NHS trusts across the UK, Leeds Beckett University and Northpoint Wellbeing and he provides DIT supervision to trainees at Roehampton University and The Anna Freud Centre.
Prior to his current role, Steve was the Student Welfare and Wellbeing Lead at the University of Sheffield where he was instrumental in creating and embedding a sector-leading faculty based student wellbeing service and the redevelopment of student welfare, which included an accredited SVLO (Sexual Violence Liaison Officer) service.
He managed the Leeds IAPT Counselling Service and developed several successful Primary Care based mental health services across the city which informed the redesign of Leeds IAPT, now known as the Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service (LMWS)
Steve is based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and Harlech, North Wales and offers DIT in private practice and supervision to DIT trainees and post-qualified DIT Practitioners across the UK and overseas via the telephone and online.
