About Gabriel Schnitzer
Gabriel grew up in Germany and re-located to UK for his Master's degree in Clinical Forensic Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London. He first became enthusiastic about Mentalization-Based Therapy when working in a forensic service for offenders with problematic personality traits following his Clinical Psychology degree at Salomons Centre for Applied Psychology. Whilst forensic work remains a key interest for him, he now works in Brighton with the homeless community. He has a small private practice primarily offering medium to long-term therapy primarily focussed on complex relational and emotional difficulties. His approach to therapy is eclectic and person-centred drawing on models including MBT, Dialectic Behavioural Therapy, mindfulness, CBT, and narrative approaches. He is a qualified Schema Therapist and heavily influenced by psychodynamic and attachment-based thinking.
