New Associations Editorial Board Member

Location: Remote
Start date: November 27, 2024
Deadline for applications: January 19, 2024
Salary: Voluntary

New Associations is the BPC’s tri-yearly magazine written for and by those interested in psychoanalytic thinking. It focuses on the application of psychoanalytic thinking to the social, cultural, and political world, rather than just to the consulting room. It is free to our Registrants and Scholars.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic, creative communicators to join our New Associations editorial board. We particularly welcome applications from people who will reflect and uplift diverse and marginalised voices and perspectives.

Deadline: Friday 19 January 2024

New Associations is committed to involving a wide range of voices from our psychoanalytic and psychodynamic community. Like the BPC, it opposes any discrimination of any kind. This includes, but is not limited to, discrimination on the basis of age, race, gender, ethnic origin, religious belief, sexual orientation, gender identity, and position in professional hierarchy.

Applicants will be connected to and engaged with their community and have a knowledge of potential contributors to contact. Although we hope the editorial board will occasionally meet in-person, we primarily operate online, so location is not a barrier. Applicants should have strong communication and editorial skills. We can, though, support you in developing your editorial skills.

For more details about the roles, please read the job description.

To apply, please email the editor, Helen Morgan (helen.morgan@bpc.org.uk), with the following:
- An up-to-date copy of your CV
- A 500 word statement explaining why you’d like to join New Associations and what you will bring to the board
- Two ideas for potential stories to go in our upcoming issues

Contact Helen at helen.morgan@bpc.org.uk if you would like an informal conversation before applying. Please hand in your application by 5pm Friday 19 January 2024. The board will be interviewing shortlisted candidates on Monday 29 January 2024.
