Visiting Lecturer : Poetry and Psychoanalysis

Location: Tavistock and Portman, NW3 5BA
Start date: January 7, 2025
Deadline for applications: November 8, 2024
Salary: Hourly visiting lecturer rate, equivalent NHS salary band 8A

We are seeking an experienced psychoanalytic psychotherapist (child or adult) or psychoanalyst with a specialist interest in poetry and psychoanalysis to teach on the pre-clinical MA, Psychoanalytic Studies (M16), at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust.

You would be teaching five weekly seminars on Tuesdays from 07/01/25 to 04/02/25 inclusive 3.30-4.45pm in person at the Tavistock.

The seminars will form part of students' learning on the Applications Module. This series of seminars aim to bring learning about the important links between cultural expression and phenomena and psychoanalytic approaches to understanding these. You would develop the seminars referring to your own diverse selection of poetry and its application to psychoanalytic theory.

In addition to delivering seminars, teachers would invited to attend staff meetings, and asked to undertake marking and assessment of students’ work in November of the following year. All teachers would be employed and paid on a visiting lecturer basis, for all teaching activity.

Please email Felicity Tyson, M16 Course Lead (ftyson@tavi@tavi-port.nhs.uk) for further information, or to apply.
